Practice Information

Podiatry
Podiatry is a specialty of medicine dedicated
to the diagnosis and biomechanical or surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. As Podiatrists, Drs. Peffley, Pearson and Beckmann provide gentle care for children, adolescents and adults. Salem Foot Clinic offers services which include diabetes management, nail care, on site x-ray, minor surgery, physical therapy and orthotic fitting.

Your Appointment
Generally, on the first visit, a full examination of your feet is performed. Depending on the nature of your problem, additional lab, x-rays, or other test may be necessary. If you have seen other physicians, it may be helpful to request your records before your first appointment. A first visit lasts approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour. Please arrive 15 minutes early on your first visit to allow time to complete all necessary paperwork. Follow-up visits tend to be 15 to 30 minutes.

If you are unable to keep your appointment or are going to be late, please call as soon as possible. This courtesy allows us to be of service to other patients.

Emergencies/ After Hours
24-hour coverage for emergencies is available. Please call (503) 370-8784. Potential infections, pain, injuries to the foot or sprains of the ankle are common emergencies.
Fees
Charges for office visits and procedures are determined by the relative value study. Charges may vary with severity or complexity of the medical/ surgical problem. The receptionist would be happy to discuss fees after a diagnosis and treatment plan has been explained.
Insurance and Billing
Most insurance plans are accepted. HMO patients must make a co-payment at the time of service and provide a valid referral from your primary physician. It is the patients' responsibility to pay the deductible amount, co-insurance, or any other balance not paid by insurance. The billing staff will submit insurance claims to both primary and secondary insurance companies at no cost. If there are any questions regarding insurances and billing, please feel free to contact the office where assistance is available.
Medicare Patients
Our Doctor's are Medicare providers and accept assignment on Medicare patients. Most services preformed at Salem Foot Clinic are covered by Medicare. Routine nail care and some other services may not be covered. If you have any questions regarding your medical coverage, our office staff will be happy to assist you.
